12 fresh jalapeños
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
12 slices of bacon
Optional: chopped green onions or chives for garnish
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
Cut the bacon slices in half and wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with bacon. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. To finish off set to 500 degrees and broil until the bacon is crispy and peppers are tender.
Garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired.
